Tawni attended The House of Michael Beauty Academy, while finishing high school, and graduated in 1991 with a Cosmetologist degree. After graduation she moved to Colorado to attend The Colorado Institute of Art. While getting her art degree she trained at The Salon On The Boulevard under Stacy Fleming and Shane Perryman, and then onto Oxford Aveda Salon & Spa (Denver, CO).
Tawni took over the family business in 2002 and is the salon's owner. She has been working in the industry since 1991. Tawni's passion for the arts shines throughout the salon and in her work. Hair is like the canvas and creating unique and rich color is a favorite of hers.
For three years Tawni was a Regional Educator for American Crew. She taught advanced haircutting methods know as Menswork, and continues to educate the staff at Altered Ego. She has had the opportunity to work with various celebrities and TV personalities such as Stephanie Sandoval from Channel 10, Paul Walker, Bryan Adams, Anna Farris, Mickey Rooney and producers and directors of films like Dinosaurs and Atlantis.
She has excelled in hair coloring, corrective coloring, cutting and Up-Do's. She is also experienced in hair and makeup for commercials, photography, and special events. She has been certified in MicroPigmentation (permanent cosmetics) for two years and uses her artistic talents to enhance facial features. She trains her staff personally and currently practices within Altered Ego Salon.
